Throughout this semester of ECI 201, I’ve come across multiple websites, links, and resources that have helped me better understand certain ideas or just that I’ve found interesting! I decided to compile them here for your using and perusing  if you so please!

  1. This first link will bring you to a blog post… about blogging! Our ECI instructor provided this link for us when we first began our blogs, and I found the authors’ words very helpful. Check it out if you’re thinking about starting a blog of your own!

2. Pixabay!! This website has been so extremely helpful throughout this course and the creation of my blog. It’s a website that offers free photos for anyone to use without having to worry about copy-write! Although Google Images is used often by students and teachers, it can be dangerous when it comes to copy-write issues! Most people don’t know that they’re “stealing” other peoples’ photos. Use Pixabay to avoid that!

3. Coding practice! When learning how to do block coding, our class practiced with these three websites! They’re all fun and current; one is about Star Wars, one about Wonder Woman, and one is about MineCraft. Choose your favorite and practice coding or give it to your students to practice coding!

4. Use this website for 5 steps and other resources on how to implement game-based-learning into your classroom! It’s important, but can be hard, so use this link to get started!

5. Commonsense.org released a video about the importance of your digital footprint, and before using technology in the classroom I think it’s important for you and your students to take a look!

6. NetSmartz! NetSmartz is a great  website for kids, and parents, to learn about the importance of internet safety. There are games for students to play, videos to watch, and even lesson plans for parents/teachers to use! In a world of technology, this website is a great basis for kids who are starting to use it.

7. TweetDeck! TweetDeck is a website that allows you to view and use multiple twitter pages and follow specific hashtags or trends simultaneously. I used TweetDeck to participate in my first twitter chat, and it was so easy to use and super helpful!
